What is PAUSE for PBD?

#PauseforPBD is our worldwide awareness day. Every year, on October 5th, the Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders pauses to recognize and honor all of the families that have lost a child or are currently fighting a peroxisomal disorder.  Show support by taking a moment to pause for individuals & families devastated by this disorder. Even though October 5th is our recognized awareness day, you can PAUSE any day of the year!

Take ACTION While Doing What You LOVE
Raise Awareness

Say a prayer, light a candle, meditate, have a moment of silence… be creative!

Reflect, honor, and remember a loved one impacted by a peroxisomal disorder.

Share your experiences in words, photos, or videos on your own Facebook, Instagram or Twitter accounts and be sure to #PauseforPBD on October 5th!

You can also combine your efforts to raise awareness by adding a fundraiser at your child’s school or hosting a local restaurant night.

Write an Op-Ed

When you or a loved one take the time to write an Op-Ed letter to your local newspaper, you are sharing your very compelling story with your entire community.

Since our primary goal on Pause for PBD awareness day is to raise awareness, Op-Ed letters are a meaningful and impactful way to do this.
