2019 GFPD Grant Cycle
The Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders along with our research partner, The Wynne Mateffy Research Foundation, is pleased to announce details about the 2019 Grant Cycle under the direction of the GFPD Scientific Initiatives Committee.
The 2019 Grant Cycle will be open from August 19 - October 5 and will begin with a solicitation of an initial letter of intent from principal investigators. Following review of letters of intent, invitations to submit a full application for grant funding will be distributed in early September. Awards are available for up to $75,000 for one year.
Investigators interested in obtaining funding should submit a letter of intent (no longer than two pages) to Grants@thegfpd.org by August 29, 2019.
Please include the following information in the Letter of Intent:
Name and contact information of principal investigator
Expected research duration
Cost estimate (range is acceptable)
Brief statement of intended outcomes and support of GFPD research priorities
The GFPD Scientific Initiatives Committee has identified the following 3 areas as priorities for the 2019 Grant Cycle:
Neurological therapies / rescue
Vison therapies / rescue
Biomarkers relevant to peroxisomal disorder identification / progression / therapy
At the discretion of the GFPD Scientific Initiatives Committee, investigators submitting letters related to additional research topics may be invited to submit a full application.
