The 2019 Family and Scientific Conference will bring together patients, families, practicing physicians, researchers, professionals serving our families in their local communities, medical students,  and organizational supporters. We have an exciting conference schedule planned, and can’t wait for you to join us in D.C. this summer!

For Families

Family Conference Dates:

  • We encourage Family Conference participants to arrive in D.C. on Wednesday July 10th as Family Conference Sessions will begin in the morning on Thursday, July 11th and run through the evening of Sunday July 14th.  Agenda information will be posted here when available.

Family Conference Stipend

  • We understand that many families may require financial assistance in order to attend the conference. The GFPD Family Conference Stipend directly covers an eligible family’s conference fees up to $400 (2 adults and 1 child) and up to 5 nights at the conference hotel.  Under this program, conference fees and hotel costs will be directly billed to the GFPD rather than be paid through a reimbursement to families.  ALL families, including bereaved families ARE eligible to apply for the GFPD Family Conference Stipend.

  • The GFPD continues to encourage all families to reach out to other avenues for assistance including your state’s deaf-blind project, Medicaid, Miracle Flight etc., and in doing so, allow the GFPD to assist the maximum number of families without jeopardizing our upcoming research initiatives.

As of May 24th, 2019, the Family Conference Stipend application is closed.  HOWEVER, if you are still in need of funding to attend the conference, PLEASE email melissa@thegfpd.org

Family Conference Registration
  • Registration for Family Conference participants can be found at: https://thegfpd.secure.force.com
